Carlos and Katie’s East Texas Engagement

This was such a fun Spring afternoon for Carlor and Katie’s East Texas engagement session! This was the best way to start the year! Our first stop was the Cook’s Nursery in Nacogdoches. The nursery is beautiful in the spring – so many gorgeous blooms are throughout the grounds. Carlos and Katie wanted something different for their session, and I’m so glad they picked this location. It’s one of my favorites in Nacogdoches for an engagement session! We could not have picked a better day, the Texas weather was definitely in our favor. We had a great time exploring the garden and I loved getting to spend some time with them!

Our second stop in our great adventure was at the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden. We were greeted with beautiful green trees and the best background to come from my favorite photos of the session. As our last stop, Carlos and Katie had a lot close to their homes with some beautiful wildflowers that they wanted to incorporate. These two are so relaxed and easy to be around – we just had the best time together. I’m so excited to share some highlights from our session!

Katie was one of the first people that I met when I moved to Nacogdoches High School in the middle of 9th grade. We both had choir together, and sat next to eachother in our alto section. I still don’t believe either of us belonged there but we became best friends instantly. When she saw I was on my photography journey she only had one person in mind to do her wedding photos. It has been an honor to see Katie in this wonderful stage in life.

Carlos and Katie had their wedding in July 2023 at The Pinnacle Venue in Henderson – it was such a beautiful summer wedding! I cannot wait to share more about Mr. and Mrs. Figueroa in the next couple of blogs!
